The Copper Matte Collection
The Copper Matte process involves firing the forms to around 1055c before removing them from the kiln and sealing in metal containers with combustible materials. Moments later, as the lid is lifted to introduce a small amount of oxygen, colours can be seen dancing across the surface of the pot.
This technique yields an unpredictable spectrum of colours and textures, with vibrant hues and the potential for metallic iridescent sheens, that change with the light.
Each piece reflects the beauty of imperfection, making these ceramics visually captivating, appealing to both collectors and enthusiasts.
