As I reflect on my journey into the world of ceramics, I am reminded of the first moment I encountered clay in the summer of 2019. What began as a simple introductory class has blossomed into a purpose; to create one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces that capture the essence and inspiration of nature’s beauty.

Following on from a handful of evening classes, I set up a home studio in Jersey and I took myself on a self-taught exploration of the craft. In 2023 and 2024, my travels to India became instrumental in this evolution. Attending various workshops, connecting with fellow artists and sharing my knowledge with others enriched my understanding and opened my eyes to the endless possibilities. This immersive experience reinforced my belief in the transformative power of earth and fire.

Continuing my travels, I journeyed to Greece in 2024, where I focused on refining my wheel-throwing skills. Each of these adventures has added layers of richness to my work, allowing my creativity to flourish. The beauty I strive to embody in my ceramics is realised through the Raku firing technique, This method not only challenges me but also celebrates the unpredictable dance between fire and nature. The results can be mesmerising as vivid colours and textures emerge from the diverse interplay of the raw elements.

My first exhibit in September 24, for an innovative Arthouse Jersey pop-up event, was designed to captivate the audience and inspire a deeper appreciation for the intricate beauty of our natural world. Titled "Natural Habitats,” the work explored the knowledge and diverse experiences I accumulated throughout my travels.

I invite you to explore my collection of unique ceramics, each an elegant expression of individuality. I hope my creations resonate with you and inspire a deeper appreciation for the artistry found in nature.
